CVD Equipment Corporation (NASDAQ:CVV) shares rose on Tuesday after the company agreed to sell its Stainless Design Concepts division to Atlas Copco Group (OTC: ATLFF).

Deal Details And Financial Impact

The deal is valued at approximately $16.9 million in cash and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions. The company estimates net proceeds at about $15 million, with $900,000 held in escrow.

CVD will retain its Saugerties, New York, facility and lease it to the buyer for two years. The company plans to use proceeds to strengthen its balance sheet and enhance financial flexibility.

Management Commentary

"This transaction, which is aligned with our previously announced decision to pursue strategic alternatives for our company, will allow us to focus on our core CVD Equipment business located in Central Islip, New York," said CEO Manny Lakios.

"The divestiture will strengthen our balance sheet and provide additional financial flexibility as we continue evaluating opportunities for the CVD Equipment business."
